Canadia

Today I am sitting at my cousins house in Kahnawake. Kahnawake is an indian reserve just across the St. Laurence river from Montreal. The people that live here are Mohawk. Over labor day weekend last year we also came here. So while you were in school Thursday morning I was in Kahnawake twelve hours away from home. We left home Wednesday night around 5:45 and arrived here in Kahnawake just before 7:00 on Thursday morning. This long drive led to a long nap as soon as we arrived at my cousins house.
Yesterday, the same day we arrived, we went to an old rock quarry that has since been filled with water. We jumped off of Bears; Bears is a 30 foot cliff into that leads us into the water. From the top of Bears you used to be able to see a sunken car, but since last year the car has been removed. From the top of Bears, I did a backflip, frontflip, headfirst dive and a couple feet first dives. Also at the top of Bears were a couple 12 to 15 year olds smoking a variety of different things. They were amazed at my flips. After we had enough of Bears we all swam to a different part of the rock quarry and found a rope swing that was boring because the rope didn't really let you get that far out into the water. So we swam back to Bears to get our towels and shoes. Overall I'd say that the swim there and back was a total of about 1500 meters.
